The North Norfolk Railway will be reconnected to the main railway network in February/March 2010! There will be a special Steam Gala on the line on February 27th & 28th, March 1st and the following weekend March 7th & 8th. Why not come and stay with us and enjoy these wonderful events! A seven minute walk from Myrtle House takes you down in to the town to the two stations. The Poppy Line Steam Railway (Midland & Great Northern) is a great experience for the Train enthusiast. The station and train is manned by volunteers and they offer a variety of exciting events throughout the year, from a 1940’s Weekend, to Murder Mystery Events, and Thomas the Tank Trips, along with the more traditional train journey up to Holt, travelling through Weybourne. More about the history of this line can be found by visiting - www.nnrailway.co.uk www.mandgn.co.uk Then at the other station, literally across the road, you can catch the main train through to Norwich which visits many villages on the way. This journey takes around 1 hour each way, and is operated by One Railways. It runs almost hourly throughout the year and links to the London Express which takes approximately two hours to reach London. There is also the Mid-Norfolk railway which is the Wymondham to Dereham and North Elmham line. Offering a host of exciting "specials" this attraction is within easy reach of Myrtle House. Why not call us and we can arrange a package to suit your requirements, maybe combining a trip to Norwich, one nights B & B along with a trip on the Poppy Line! This would make an exciting gift for any rail enthusiast! Call us on 01263 823889 |
